Directions: The bookstore is located in the heart of Park Slope at 143 Seventh Avenue, between Carroll & Garfield Streets. That’s roughly opposite Key Foods.Map: Remind me to Add this. I stole a nice map off someone else’s site. To get here by Subway: Take the F train to the 7th Avenue stop. You’ll have to walk 10 blocks, but they’re short. You come out on 9th Street. Garfield (the nearer of our cross streets) is the first named street after the numbered streets give out, so make sure the street numbers are going down as you walk along 7th Avenue. (Here’s a tip: To head off in the right direction down 7th Avenue, just orient yourself so that uphill is on your right-hand side. This ought to leave downhill on your left, assuming the universe is still functioning in the normal way. Strike out boldly, with the confident air of a born & bred Brooklynite.) If for some reason you got on the front of the train in Manhattan, you may come up on 8th Avenue instead of 7th Avenue, but just head downhill (handy thing, the slope of the Slope) to 7th and then turn right on 7th and walk those 10 blocks (like I said, they’re short). It’s about a seven minute walk, depending on how sprightly your pace is.
Take the 2 or the 3 to the Grand Army Plaza stop.
Take the B or the Q to the 7th Avenue stop.
Take the M or the R to the Union Street stop. Buses: Buses are beyond me, but I think the B67 stops on our block. Link to mta site?If you’re driving: The easiest thing is to get yourself onto Flatbush Avenue. I don’t know which direction you’re coming from, but the turn onto 7th Avenue is (following the slope of the Slope) below Prospect Park’s Grand Army Plaza and above the intersection with Atlantic Avenue. 7th Avenue begins (or ends, depending on how you’re looking at it) at Flatbush, so just turn onto it. You can’t really go wrong. Carroll Street (the nearer of our cross streets) is about 8 blocks from the beginning of 7th Avenue. Please be aware – parking can be a doozie, and the meter maids are savage.By Dirigible, TARDIS or Roq: You’re on your own. Didn’t your mother warn you about this sort of thing? If you’ve never been to Park Slope Before, Wikipedia Not for Tourists Guide
